I remember going to the original in Chelsea, when that's about all that was there. I remember that was the first time I had ever seen a glass of tea that big. Now all cups of tea and soda are that big everywhere. I remember the the hamburger steaks with all the fried onions on top. Delicious. I loved that.
Used to have to drive through "The Narrows" to get there and I remember the trip from Cahaba Heights to Chelsea felt like a long way.
I haven't been in Lloyd's in years... Maybe that's why they are closing down. Too many eating choices on Highway 280. When I was growing up it was a big deal to head down 280 to go to Lloyds. Nothing past Rocky Ridge Road but the animal clinic and the White Barn. Illegal fireworks at the White Barn. I remember when they built the Inverness development, I was like "Why are they building a housing development way the Hell out here?" What do you mean illegal fireworks? Waaay back then it was illegal to sell fireworks in Jefferson county. We would make the trip down 280 to a place called the White Barn, which was just across the Shelby County line to buy fireworks.

Too many eating choices on Highway 280. Not any good ones...... It's a chain nightmare out here.
