Was able to compose the following this morning. It help me some to put it on paper. Have been sitting on our front porch steps for awhile this morning. I guess to pass the time I could have just started counting the leaves that were falling but instead was praying some and thinking about many things. Guess you could call it meditating. While looking at the many trees behind the house across the street I noticed the changing colors and that many leaves were falling and thought how bleak, gray, dark, and ugly the landscape would soon be. Sort of how I feel now and it seems that the coming days will be. Yep very depressing! Sorry. Well I am not a poet, a writer of songs, or story teller, and can not easily transfer my thoughts from my mind to paper, but…… My thoughts moved forward and I started thinking that no matter what, short of Jesus returning first. That Spring would come again next year – new life would spring up and flow into those trees across the street. Flowers in the forest edge would bloom, the trees would “green up” and buds would burst forward in new life and color and once again make fruit. Soon after birds and squirrels would be building nests in those trees and bring more new life and sounds of their singing again into our world. Once again there will be color and brightness and new life where there was once seemly only darkness and death. Right now Spring seems to be a long, long, long time away and it may take many Springs before I can again see all the brightness this world has…..but I know that SPRING WILL RETURN…..and day by day, week by week with the love and support of our friends, family, and the Lord we will see that brightness sooner than later.
