I remember seeing this all the time when I was younger. Never see it now.

Yep, and seems it was always a long bed Chevy. Good times.

I saw a 1/2 ton, 2WD with some very aggressive "mud grips" on the rear a couple weeks ago. Older feller driving it . Brought a smile, first one I'd seen in years.

Dang good memories. Them buckshot was best tire ever for mud . A truck with 38 buckshots was almost impossible to get stuck .

We had a '75 f100 with the grips on the back. All my buddies nicknamed it "uncle jesse" after his truck on dukes of hazard.

Had a Chevy Luv with 60’s on the back and 50’s up front. That little two wheel drive was so light it would float. Cost was under 3k back then.

My pops was a rural mail carrier from ‘80 - ‘05. 1/2 of his 100mi route was on red dirt roads. His weapon of choice was a square body Malibu with a posi-trac rear end and co-op mudders. The first 4WD vehicle in our household was an ‘88 Jeep Cherokee I bought when I was 16. I can still remember him laughing at the thought of someone “needing” 4WD. When the blizzard of ‘93 hit, guess who wasn’t laughing at 4WD anymore?

Now days they put mud grips all around on a 2wd and buy the 4wd decals to slap on the side.

I use to have an 86 Chevy with Q buckshots and a 8 or 10,000 Warn on it. With a built 350, double hump heads, and retrieved many friends and deer, from Skyline to Little River. Good times! Sometimes too much right foot caused problems. Might have been Bush, Coors, latte's involved.

My friends grandfather had a front wheel drive Pontiac Phoenix with little 14” mud grips on the front. It would go anywhere as long as it didn’t bottom out.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.
