The wife has decided she wants a smoker. I know nothing about them. What do y’all recommend?

I got a pit boss and I like it when it works. But it’s down more than it works. There are literally 5 parts and I’ve replaced them all at one time or another in the last 18 months. And it’s not working now. Im about done with it

I just have an electric Masterbuilt. I like it. Set the time and temp and walk away. Add chips about once an hour or so.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

My pit boss is on year 5 and while the smoker has held up great the electronic controller has started to crap out

I’ve heard of some folks putting the rectec Bluetooth controller in their pit boss, anyone tried it?

Does good smoke and ease of use. Pitboss or Recteq.

I do miss my pitboss but will get a Yoder next purchase. Still like my kamado joe but for great taste and ease of use a pellet grill is hard to beat

I wouldn't trade my Vision Kamado for anything, but there's a learning curve, unlike some of the automatic pellet type grills. Those things are like having an outdoor oven.

We bought one of these a few weeks ago, haven't used it yet. Was on sale at Walmart for $75. Usually $120. Might be even cheaper now if there's any left. Haven't checked lately

I have an old propane Masterbuilt and just use chips or chunks or combination of 2. Old but it works. Basic vertical smoker with 4 racks. I’ve done a Turkey for Thanksgiving on it as well as pork shoulder and butt and beef and fish. Simply basic smoker that isn’t electric. Those Weber smoky mountain smokers look nice if you want charcoal. Don’t know anything about electric grill/smoker but other folks seem to like them and they seem convenient.

I’ll never be without a Green Egg.
There are cheaper models out there, but I’ve never had to replace anything other that the bottom fire grate.
I tried the electric starters, but have move to the wax/sawdust starters. Break off 4 pieces, light, drop in at 12-3-6-9. About 30 mins later it’s rolling, pick up the cooking grill with a nail bar & brush off with a stainless wirebrush, and cook whatever. After smoking/grilling whatever…shut off top and bottom, and next time I get ready to grill it looks like it “might” have used 1/4 of the charcoal (I use Royal Oak with maple tree chunks from maple trees in my yard).

Electric master built for win. Set it and forget it unless you want to really get into smoking meat.
