This is kind of a spin off to the over 50 thread. Oltimer touched on sleep on the over 50 thread. I just curious - do most of u guys sleep thru the night? I get up at least 3 times a night. Only 2 times would be extremely rare for me. I was like this in my 40s I do try to not drink after 7 r 8 at night. I don't feel sleepy all day - but i always wake up around 3 - 4 times a night and i usually go right back to sleep after i pee Just curious

Not quite there but knocking on the door. I get up once a night about 85%of the time. If I wake up for any reason after 2 or 3 am, then it’s 50/50 whether I’ll fall back asleep or not.

I wake up 4-5 times a night. Not to get up, I just wake up. Usually because something is aching. Lol. I don’t remember the last time I had a great nights sleep.

I'm 54. I don't wake up at night. Don't have to pee. Once asleep I stay asleep. I don't hear storms, lightning, tornado sirens, kids, dog barking...nothing. If intruder came in middle of the night, I'd be unaware. Not a good thing to sleep that deeply.
I always drink at least 16oz of water every night right before bed. Good hydration and low sugar intake are keys for me to reduce the aches and pains. I can't recall the last day I haven't had a minimum of 10 cups (8 oz) of water.
One day the getting up at night will arrive I'm sure. Not looking forward to that.

I’ll be 51 next week and never sleep through the night. I haven’t for the last several years I get up once a night to use the bathroom then go back to sleep. I’ll wake up again about 3:00 a.m. and dose off and on for the rest of the night until time to get up.

When I can’t sleep, I am tired all the next day. But if I ever take a nap, I can’t sleep that night. As a matter of fact, after church today, I was so tired but I pushed through so I could sleep tonight.

I feel great but just can't sleep. That's why most of my posts are so early, dang cats are asleep and armadillo's are scarce around here so I take a dump, read my Bible and then get on this entertaining site.

3:30 every dang morning. No matter what time I go to bed. Sometimes right back to sleep. Most times I get another couple hours before I have to get up.

I have never had a problem going to sleep. I can sleep anywhere anytime. If I wake up though I'm screwed. My mind starts racing with jobs I've got to do and how to get things done and what order do do them in. Only thing that saves me is ambien. Dr prescribed it for me a couple of years ago and it has really helped with being able to sleep through the night. Now most nights if I do wake up, its because something hurts and I have to shift but I almost always go back to sleep before my mind catches up with me. Talk to your dr. Try it, you'll like it. Just don't drink too much while taking it. You WILL do things and not know it.
What you do today, you have to sleep with tonight.

I used to get up three or four times a night to pee, when my blood sugar was out of control, and I did not realize it. As soon as I got my sugar back to normal, I started sleeping all the way through the night again.

Just a sign of getting older Could be either one of these. I'm not a physician, btw, but if you're peeing 3-4 times a night you need to check your blood sugar and HbA1c and make sure you're not diabetic now. For those having trouble sleeping and staying asleep, years of flying nights and having odd sleep schedules, and especially after getting back from Afg, my sleep hygiene was a mess. I have multiple sleep disorders and when I got out of the mil (no longer flying) I was finally able to do something out it. CBD and a tempurpedic mattress has changed my life. I'm not over exaggerating. I nibble about 1/4 of a gummy some nights if I feel like it's going to be a bad sleep night (stress, bad memories, etc.) and I sleep like a baby and wake up feeling refreshed. About the only thing that ruins my sleep these days is shoulder pain, but I've learned to sleep on my back.
