One of the guys here at work insisted that those Ghost Peppers I grew aren't that bad. Said he'd eat one at lunch. To his credit, he kept his word. Big mistake. I tried to talk him out of it but he insisted that a ghost pepper ain't that bad. Next thing I knew he had already popped the whole thing in his mouth and was chewing. I'll bet he doesn't ever do that again.

Hahahaaa I love it when insist but they don’t listen. You need to cut one 1/4 inch below the stem de-vain and seed it. Slip it back together and eat it in front of him.

My dad used to tell me if you're going to be dumb you gotta be tough.

With that said I routinely grow and make hot sauces out of ghost peppers and Carolina Reapers. That stuff is some more hot but great on food in moderation.

I would’ve done it if there was bet involved. But I guess at 38 I’m technically a millennial. And I eat weird stuff for kicks all the time.

I love anything hot, the worst I've tried is "Da Bomb" hot sauce. It's basically just straight capsaicin and crappy flavor (actually no flavor). I like flavor with my heat.

Wouldn't you like to see his face on his next trip to the toilet. I bet he looked like a dog with his eyes popping out his head.

a toothpick dipped in dave’s insanity and then wiped off with a paper towel has made many a brave souls regret the decision at our camp in selma. the worst one i remember was a guy that got some on his finger from the cap off the bottle. during the miserable minutes following him putting the toothpick in his mouth he wiped his eyes. he grabbed another gear at that point. had his head in the sink trying to spray his eyes out with the spray nozzle.

Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

We grew some experimental habanero peppers this year. I gave a every single one away except for a few that I will make pepper sauce with (for greens and beans) and retain the seeds of another. Certainly a habanero doesn't compare to a Ghost or Carolina Reaper, but I have always enjoyed to looks on people's face when they pop one of those hot peppers in their mouth and begin crunching away.

I'm pretty much a puss - about the hottest I can eat AND enjoy is a jalapeno, perhaps a cayenne if it is finely chopped and added to something (preferably something with cream cheese). I THINK I can mostly tolerate the heat of many of the peppers, but if it is too hot - it hurts my stomach (probably acid reflux and/or ulcers) and the next morning when I visit the facility - I am miserable.

The guy is maybe 22 or 23 years old and already knows everything except how to do his job and when to shut his trap about hot peppers. I think he may have learned one of those lessons today. His whole head turned bright red like a brake light and his eyes looked bloodshot after tears filled them for about 20 minutes. They said that he threw up a couple of times not long after he ate it.

I've got to commend him on doing it after he said he would though. I tried to give him an out but he insisted that it wouldn't be too awful bad. He was wrong. I may have to offer him another one Monday, just for fun.

I actually brought it for another guy along with some habaneros to put in some salsa. I reckon that at first break he told some of the others that he'd eat one and I think they may have stoked that fire.
