The wife and I went Thursday and yesterday. Found some great deals too. Picked up a grand ole man, a brand new hitch hauler and an old 8mm German Mauser all for a grand total of $150. Bought some other stuff also but those are what I'd call my best bargains. Mauser needs a stock but metal is good. Wife bought some things that don't interest many men but your wives would probably like. Resting back at home today but may hit it again for a little while tomorrow.

Good score on the Mauser. If its a 98k rifles are going for $900 up right now
Beat up rough ones with sewer pipe barrels are $600

I don't know much about old military rifles, this one included. Not really sure if it's a K or not but it does say it's a model 98, and the barrel and receiver have matched serial #s. There's a crazy looking symbol then UX before the 98. I'm not even sure what stock to buy but if I an going to shoot it ill need to get one. The one on it was held together with a screw and a radiator hose clamp. Thing looked like it had been shot right behind the receiver. I'll keep the current stock just in case that is an old war injury.

Wife and I went to Akin's Dogtown , so we checked out the yard sale. We made a couple of small purchases . They said it was kinda slow this year. Did see a nice 16 gauge Model 12 with corn cob forearm . Wrong gauge and too high at $750.

Lots of venders in that area. If it doesn't look like a bonafide yard/garage sale we drive right on by. There are usually no deals to be had where they are all clumped up in rented spaces. I like to follow the signs to the sales that are a little off of the main route. Very few dealers if you get a block off the highway.

Right , the guy that's always at Collinsville that has anvils , vices , bells and old tools was there . Saw some others from Collinsville come to think of it.
