I want a fluted bolt on the tikka I purchasing from BPI. I ran across this website and now looking at having a couple other done too. My question, has anyone else this service done or used LRI?

His prices seem very reasonable. If you do some searching on other forums, I have seen many positive comments. I don’t have personal experience though.

I have had 4 or 5 done by Chad at long rifle inc, plus quite a few buddies have sent theirs to him. Great quality for a very good price.

Your talking barely any ounces in a bolt.i understand the lightweight game used to be there also before it was cool or guys who elk hunted thought they had to have an ultralight rifle to kill one.i don't fool with barrel fluting either if it's not stress relieved correctly it will compromise accuracy.
Tikka bolt handles are already hollow and lightweight

I'm opposite of most folks .I'd rather have weight.
It makes for a steady shot.tikka rifles are already tiny and lightweight
Guys been carrying standard rifles unfluted into mountains chasing game along time before ultra light weight rifles was a thing.just my opinion

Never used LRI but have sent a few to Short Action Customs.
IMO the weight reduction from fluting can only really be measured by metrology instruments.
In the real world you won't notce the difference in a few onces.

As for looks, it does look cool.

Bolt fluting also aids in self cleaing when cycling the bolt.
It gives dirt and grime a place to go to help prevent binding.
I don't think I've ever seen a bolt gun so filthy as to see that benefit though

There are two types of gun enthusiasts ... Those who have been F#CKED by PTG and those who will be!

I have always looked at it as a cool factor improvement. Any weight savings could happen much easier by shedding a piece of unnecessary gear.
