Yeah i'm afraid you're right. My Step-dads been in business for himself for 47 years now and he's had enough.

I hate to hear that for you Beadlescom, i bet Marks could use a good fishing salesman, It was just hard to get to Nichols with them being closed on Saturdays as most people work Monday-Friday.If you go in Marks or Simmons on a Saturday morning they are typically packed out, if i had to guess a good percent of there sales come from the partial day they are open on Saturdays. I went in Marks (as much as a dislike that place) when they had there sale last week and you couldn't fine a parking place 15 minutes after they opened.

I sure hate to hear that. That was a great store. I bought several suppressors from them and sent many people their way.

A sporting goods store not open on Saturday? That does not seem like a good idea?

Man, I hate that. Sorry man. Beadlescomb hooked me up last year on a gun I'd been looking for. Seemed like a cool place to work. You are good people so something will open up. Prayers for you bud.

This is the exact reason why employees are no longer giving 2-weeks notice. They never get the same respect from their employer.

It was very difficult to get there with their days and hours. I liked Nichols Outfitters better than most outdoor stores.

Sounds like they are to blame for their closing. Hate another small business closed and one of the members here is affected but I’m not sure how you can be in retail and not be open on the weekends?
I would like to think the owner would maybe try being open on the weekends before closing the doors but might be some other underlying factors..

There’s a guy on Facebook marketplace with several new safes for sale. The pictures show them inside Nichols.

I saw that too he also has some other misc items for sale. Looks like it would have been easier to have a going out of business sale so they could at least get rid of everything at cost. They must have other plans of getting rid of there guns and bows.

Troy Sport Shop did it when they closed down, went pretty smoothly. They brought in a company that specialized in doing that kind of thing.

If a bank is on the hook(and probably is); they will decide liquidation strategy. Most use a professional like that; they are ready to cut their losses and move on.

That guy is steadily posting items for sale on FB marketplace boots, shoes etc. Not sure what price they had them listed at, but they appear not to be discounted or at least you can buy elsewhere on the web same price they have listed.

I wish I had more information for yall. I knew it wasn't doing great because it was like pulling teeth to reorder stuff we were selling. But we would have like to have been told hey we are shutting down in a month.

As far as the Saturday stuff we were doing a ton of business without being open on the weekends when we had inventory and I'm not too sure what they are going to accomplish with listing stuff on market place.

We will burn that bridge when we get there
