I have tried to contact people from the first thread I did, and that seems to be slow going so I am starting over.

I need 2 guys.

The club 411: Located in columbiana off Jointertown Rd. 10 members. 1050 acres. $1,400 for dues. Doe limit per member is 2, children can shoot 1, not off a greenfield, unless its kids first deer. Bucks are 3.5 years of age or older. About half the lease was thinned last summer. Have plenty of fields, and ladder stands. Maybe 7 shooting houses. Have some acreage slated for clear cutting in 2024, it was final thinned about 6 years ago. Have water year round and a nice hard wood bottom.

Lease next to me is doing the same thing we are. Most of his lease that boarders mine was clearcut last year. He keeps his guys at 1 doe and they only shoot mature bucks. We saw alot of bucks last year, good qualitiy 2.5 year olds with nice symmentrical racks.

I took over this lease a year ago. I have been in it for 5. I started spring planting and heavy minerals. Then moved over to clover to have year round food. Soil tested and limed about 3 or 4 years ago. I planted alot more clover last fall, but the really cold weather last December hurt some of the new growth I believe. I will redo that again this fall.

Very strict guest policy. Must send me a pic of all deer and turkey kills. It's Westervelt property, so no baiting. I run the show, and I pay the same $, actually more to be honest, as the rest of the club members. I am not opposed to less members as we move along. I have been working towards a higher quality buck harvest for several years now, and after what I saw last season, I think we are moving the right direction.

I’m interested in the columbiana hunting club lease. We’re in Birmingham and I’ve been hunting the WMA areas but want to get in on a good lease. We’re from MS and have land to hunt, but it is all the way across the state in Vicksburg, so I can only hunt there when visiting family. This place looks like it’s only 45 mins from Bham and sounds great. I have a 7 year old that I might want to get out there a few times this year as well. Let me know your thoughts or any info you need. Thanks - Will Smith

If you need a member I’ll join. I live in Birmingham, already have a place I mainly hunt but would love to get a place this close. Would love it if we could double the membership with half the guys or even triple it for even less guys. But for a place this close to home with the potential you speak of, I’m interested. I can send you check or meet you whenever.

I’d be okay with going in $7k and you and I just have it.

And next year you can high bid and leave Lockjaw out.

Thanks for all the interest, I have answered all the PM's I have gotten. I am going in the order of contact, and the first guy who contacted me joined. I am showing the second guy the lease this weekend. If he doesn't join I will move down the list. I have been swamped at work, my role changed, and I have been drinking water thru a firehose lately.

For those that would like a smaller club, I may be there next year. Keep in mind 2 years ago I had 19 guys, last year I had 13, and this year I am down to 10.

Congratulations. Sounds like you've got it headed in the right direction and you'll see that it will pay dividends.
