I sold a good bit of mine last month. They may have gotten the cald or they told Blackrock to stick their tranny business where it belongs.

We just had 3 out of the Top 4 Largest Bank Failures in United States History. One last month.

Janet said it was fine.

Interest rates are going to continue to move up. That's all you need to know.

Yup. Its taking hold like a slow moving storm. The big recession is setting in and all of us can feel it coming.

Dollar General specifically has expanded relentlessly for over 2 decades. That expansion drives sales growth year-over-year. As long as that expansion continues to playout like that they can tout sales growth and increase their earnings guidance.

Dollar General leases most of it's stores. They don't own their real estate. So what all this means is that they can't get the leases on the stores to lineup with their profit expectations due to current market interest rates. The owner of the metal building with Dollar General on the front can't take a loss. He has to have enough rent from DG to pay the note on the building. I think we all understand that that payment the landlord makes to the Bank is a lot higher today than it was or would have been just 1 year ago due to interest rates. They also can't build new stores in this environment.

This is a real estate problem. All major economic downturns begin right here.

You might get Dollar General at a discount right here if you purchase some of their stock but IMO it's buying something just before the Sunami hits. I'll opt to keep my powder dry for now.

IMO that's the lay of the land here. It's the tip of the Iceburg IMO but does not necessarily reflect on Dollar General itself and it's ability to run as a Company or make profits in the future. I'm not a buyer here but DG is 100% ok as a company IMO.

Hope that makes sense it's a tangled web out here.

Advance Auto bought CarQuest to "increase their visibility". Prices have jumped 25-100% on some items and old store associates are gone. All about the dollar...............................

Same story for DG. The lack of good workers and workers in general has made the local store a damn waste. Overcharges, valid coupons that won't work, nobody to check you out and the self checkouts only sometimes work. I've about given up on'em. It was a blessing but has become a PIA to shop there. My last 3 trips have been small disasters.

I believe DG is owned by KKR? I remember when they bought Bruno's, Food World, same thing high prices, no help in the stores.

DG took a massive nose dive today. They will go back up by the end of the year. But it is irritating to see that.

DG will go up and it is at discount right now. I would not expect it to go far any time soon. Be ready to pull the sell button when it hits your price target.
