More power to anyone who really enjoys it but man I just don’t get it. We have some friends who’s kid is doing 10u all stars this summer. They played in a 1-day tournament Saturday…”guaranteed 3 games with as many as 5”…..in a single day. Never heard how many they ended up playing but even 3 in a day is excessive and 5 in a day is just stupid

When I was playing, all-star teams advanced by winning sub-district then district, etc.. My understanding now is if you pay the entry fee, then you are guaranteed a certain number of games not based on the ability of the team, but if you are willing to pay the entry fee.

It’s from target. My wife buys it. It’s absolute crack cocaine.

Around here we play dizzy dean and not alot of teams left, other areas went BPA rec and travel so the way i understnad it is if you want to do all stars you just pay to play in those tournaments now its not the way it use to be when you played district and so on if you won. We had some jack leg from BPA come to a meeting couple years ago and tried to sale us a load of crap about how everybody was leaving park ball and we should to and they would come in amd run everything for us and how it would be so much better, had to dig it out of him how our little end of year county tounament would go from $3 gate fee to $10. Its all about money with these people and they are destroying youth baseball in my opinion. Yes you have a few kids that really like playing baseball like that but from what i can tell its a very very low ammount, its the parents that like to sit around and talk about how they had such a hard weekend at the park all day and how hot it was and how much money it cost but they did win a stupid 50 cent ring and they had 10 or 12 scouts there watching so it was a good day for thier 9 year old

Joney did it last year. Ballgames from 9:00am till 11:00pm. Those late games get crazy sometimes. Glad to have got to experience it with my daughter. Would not care to do it again. 14hrs worth of ballgames is a bit excessive

I did that once and woke up three days later and had no idea where i had been. Never did remember. People would tell me every now and then they saw me here or there. I sure wouldnt want to be like that in my daughters dugout.

We used to enjoy the All-Star tournaments and travel ball. Used them as mini vacations but I let my son be the driver. When he wanted to take a break we hunted or fished.
