How long after a thinning cut would you wait to try and hunt a spot?

They will hang around during the logging, just hard to hear and hunt. But the day after the noise machines leave, it’s good to go.

A turkey or deer in SW AL wakes up listening to a cutter head buzzing every single morning of their life - if it’s calm and sound is carrying. That stuff doesn’t bother them at all - it just bothers hunters. I will admit the constant racket can be annoying if they are nearby during season.

My cousin sent me this earlier today. While he was mulching these three birds came running up strutting and gobbling

Soon as they load the equipment and leave. Or heck on a morning they’re not working.

I had two gobbling the other morning less than 300 yards of a loader beating and banging pine trees off trailers.

One of best weekends of turkey hunting I ever had was place had been thinned previous fall.

“Killing tomorrow’s trophies today.”

On the distance I like to walk to my stands:
“The first 100 yards is also the last 100 yards.”

The first year or 2 they hit it hard.....for the young sprouts and such. Doves hit it hard the first fall before it grows up.......A LOT of wild seed is available.
