I really love a sxs shotgun, would it make a decent turkey gun. Something along the lines of a stodgier uplander or Cz bobwhite

SxS patterns vary left and right with heavy loads and harder shot. A turkey head and neck are vertical. The usual thing is to set it up sighted in for one barrel and use an open choke for the other barrel. Others spend gobs of effort trying to get both barrels to hit close enough together.

An O/U works much better because they vary high and low. You can sight in for the head with both barrels hitting one on the head and the other on the neck.

Yes, a Stoeger Uplander makes a fine turkey gun

I just picked up a Cz Bobwhite All-Terrain this week. Plan to pattern it this weekend. Will let you know how it goes

Really sharp looking gun. I plan on doing what the above poster mentioned: use one barrel as my ‘long’ barrel and the other as my ‘short’ barrel. We’ll see how it goes, but reviews are pretty positive for the most part

Something like this what you had in mind?

Howl is right that you will probably have issues getting both barrels to shoot the same POI, but it's usually not that difficult to solve the problem. A SxS gun has to have the barrels regulated to account for the recoil, and I believe every manufacturer designs them for field loads. You put 2 TSS loads in it that are shooting way more payload than the gun was designed for and it's not going to shoot the same.

The solution is to sight in your tight barrel wherever it wants to hit, then file the end of the choke of your open barrel to get it to the same spot. It's best to use a gun with replaceable chokes so that you don't permanently alter the gun. Good luck finding a good one!
