What is a good gift for a 13 y/o. Something that they can keep and it holds a memory? Son is turning 13 and wife wants to get him something special.

I would definitely do the lifetime license thing if you think he will be hunting/fishing as an adult. It won’t get cheaper.

Thanks, yea lifetime I’m considering. What’s your go to gun that will grow with? He has a 6.5 with vortex. Killed 3 deer so far but all 0 blood shooting the eldx and one was a heart shot.

Knife is a good option also, he fishes bass team so thought a custom rod but can easily break etc.

I have a 270 my wife gave me when we were dating in 2001. I thought about doing something to it and passing it along. Any gun customizations? Unless there is another caliber/combo that can be used for elk to deer?

Lifetime license or custom knife would be my go to. Both are something he would keep forever and would always remember that he got them for his 13th bday.

I lean towards a custom knife, that can be someting he uses 50 years from now when you are long gone.

Can't lose our sell a memory. My father gave me his USAF knife at lunch at a restaurant. I lost it before we left the restaurant. I do stiil have my first guns, though.

Got one son a lifetime license the other told me he didn't want it . Ask him , might spoil the surprise, but he'll get something that he will remember .

I bought one and seeing as it says lifetime and I’ve held up my end of the agreement by breathing up to this moment I’ll not be buying another thing to hunt with (license/ privilege wise) in Alabama. Especially something I had no say/vote on.
