Looks like a signpost rub. Out in open timber , very visible. Every buck in the area will rub them . I wouldn't hunt there because of it. Now you find a cluster that size back in a thick stuff that's the real deal.

Found 4 on wma like this in a cluster. The odd thing is all 4 on locust trees.One tree twice this size but not worked over as hard. You better not shoot the deer doing that to locust trees. He'll take your gun away from you and beat you to death with it.

It would give me enough breathing room to hunt for a little while without having those idiots hunting on top of you I've heard a claw hammer is a great tool for driving nails and making rubs. Did you get a large deer foot and make some scrapes too?
