I'm not an expert but Can see arguments for 3.5 and 4.5. Any trailcam pics of him?

About 30-40% of the time absolutely not. We’ve tracked deer from age 2 until their death at 4,5,6 and even 8 years old. We have a lot of deer age younger than we know their true age to be.

Do y'all think the trial cam pics confirm he's 3.5 yr old too? I really thought he was 4.5

beRAD, I’d call that deer 4 on the hoof myself, especially if the dates are right on your camera.

But he could be 3.

From the jawbone, that deer is 3 & 1/2 years-old. The last tooth on which the decay (brown part) is wider than the enamel (white part) as you look straight down on the teeth is the 3 & 1/2 year tooth.

I can answer that question, probably matches about 30-50% of the time, at the absolute most.

Too young if you are trying to grow good deer if not who cares if his rack made you happy.
