Thought I made a good hit on an 8 about 90 minutes but he has gone further than I think he should have. My dog has found them before but this is the furthest I’ve had one go.

No luck on finding the deer. Dogs got no further than I did tracking. Not sure what could have happened except that he must have been at a sharper angle than I thought at the shot and the bullet ran under his front shoulder. Found a few tiny bone fragments at the hit site and I do mean tiny. Last blood was at about 325 yards then nothing.
First deer I’ve lost in a very very long time. It happens but it sucks big time.
