I’ve been doing a lot of research on buck/ doe ratios, carrying capacity and that sort of thing. I have came across info several times that mentions doe fawns. Basically if I understand it correctly, a doe fawn will come into heat when she gets about 70lbs no matter what time of year it is. Do you guys have any info on this? Is this true in Alabama? What time of year does this usually occur? Are they usually bred? If they aren’t bred, do they come into heat again 28 days later? If this occurs in February how does it effect length of the rut?

The ONLY areas I’ve ever know this to occur in AL, and even there it’s an extreme rarity, would be areas with November ruts. Doe fawns that conceive in native AL deer are practically nonexistent.
