I'd like to have one too. A year or 2 ago some asshat posted up some vises, a few anvils, some stainless tables, etc and then never returned my calls or PMs. Never did figure that one out.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Not to hijack your thread (consider it a free bump!) Below is a picture of my dad when he was about 5 years old or so - sitting on a vise. That vise is sitting at mom's house right now and one day will be at my house. It originally belonged to his dad. They don't make it like this one anymore.

Lots of makers I know use a small piece of railroad rail when starting out. Not sure about in the year 2012 but it used to be illegal to posess any section of rail. Whatever the case I'd LOVE to have a piece about 2 feet long.

LOL Thanks for the shoals craiglist posting ts1979flh. The edges are gone on that one. On a good anvil they would be sharp corners.
