Watching the live video feed from “The Crush” and seeing the deer’s behavior reminded me of sitting on a food plot once and watching two does stand on their hind legs and “box”, until one got tired and went to the middle of the plot and bedded down. It was a cool thing to watch in person. What’s some of the things you’ve seen deer do?

Mmmm I've seen 'em do some purty cool stuff. But the one that sticks out is when an Airplane flew over one morning, and a doe looked up at it and i thought she was gonna break her neck following that thing as it passed 😄 Her nose damn near touched her back 😅

Opening weekend saw a bird taking a ride on this doe. Never seen that before with a deer.

Watched a couple of fawns treating a low place in a food plot like a slip and slide. It had rained that morning, and the grass was all matted down and slick. They would get a running start, slide down the the swale, then run back and do it again. Went on for about 45 minutes. Playing like a couple of little kids.

Used to be a lifeguard, until that blue kid got me fired.

I was riding home from a buddy's house, drinking some Wild Turkey and smokin' some Cubans. Had a pretty good buzz too. On the dirt road we live on, I see a big doe just chillin' on the side of the road. She's layin' down looking at me as I drive past. I stop and back up. She's still lookin' at me. I back the truck up about another 10 yards not wanting to get too close and get out of the truck. I didn't understand why a perfectly good deer would just lay there.

"Hey girl, what's up?"

Then I see she's trying to move, but her hip must be broken. No signs of any exterior damage. I go back in the truck pull out my 9mm, and say "Sorry girl." Put one right between the eyes.

I took her home and made some badass chocolate chipotle chili out of her. I think the only thing I have left of her is some tenderloin. I'm going to fry that up and make some homemade biscuits in a couple of weekends.

I like watching the look the older deer give the fawns when they run out kicking and running around in a green field. Some of the looks the older deer shoot at them are priceless.

I also like the real quick bitch slaps them does will administer when a perpetrator gets to close. Some of them do it so quick you catch the slap noise as the doe just starts eating again like she didn’t do nothing.

Swim the Mississippi with 4 arrows sticking in him. Looked like he was dragging bobbers.

A Barge cut him off from the Illinois side and he came back over, died, and I fished him out with a long log (with my pants and boots off in the water).

Had a doe follow me on the opposite side of a creek one time
When I’d stop she’d stop
When I’d walk she’d walk
I guess she was just curious about what I was

Saw a 90% albino doe come in at near dark and another doe already in the area blew at it and ran it off.

Haha this dude beat me to it. While I’ve never shot a true giant, I’ve gotten pretty d@mm giddy over every buck that I’ve caused to flop to the ground…I don’t believe that’ll ever be uncool behavior. 😎

Disappear like they never were there. Deer standing in the woods you turn and look away. Back at the deer and gone silently slipped away. They have great camo.

I saw two bucks get into a serious fight a couple of weeks ago. Big mature bully 5 pt and a younger 9 pt. They both changed colors when their hair stood up and they started licking their chops and walking like zombies posturing at each other. The 9 pt turned away then quickly turned back and drilled the 5 pt head on. The 5 pt took the hit then pushed the 9 pt backwards at high speed and ended up flipping him on his back. The 9 pt laid there for on his back about 30 seconds and I thought "oh no, he is paralyzed". Finally he gets up and runs off.

Another time, here in FL I was sitting my food plot one morning in late January when an odd colored little doe with a white patch on her side walks out of the woods into the plot at 11 am. A line of bucks proceeds out behind her. The 5th one was a mature heavy 8 pt and I did not wait to see what was coming next. Two days later the same doe walks out rat 7:30 am and I can see a big deer in the woods behind her. He peeks out, sees the shooting house and wheels back into the pines. He starts to walk away but I find a hole to shoot through and let him have it. After an hour looking in the wrong spot for blood, I stumble on a drop closer to the stand than I thought he was. It turns into a short trail and there stands the little doe beside a dead 11 pt. She hops away and I go admire the buck which was a real dandy for this area. I leave to go get my truck and when I get back, that little doe is standing there with him again. She did not want to leave him. I load him up and go wait at our sign in board for somebody to come out and see this great buck. I just have to tell somebody so I get on the phone with a buddy who is at work. Shortly into the conversation, I look up to see a big 8 pt standing in the road. My gun is cased and I whisper I've gotta go and hang up. About the time I manage to unzip the gun case, he runs off. I cuss myself and call my buddy back. Then I look up and there is an even bigger buck crossing the road in the same spot! No, I did not get a shot off at him either. I was about 500 yards as the crow flies from my food plot and I am betting that same little doe crossed the road there right before I pulled up.
