What state would y’all go with if killing a big deer (140 and up) on public was priority?

Proximity to North AL non resident license fees and maybe duck opportunity being the only others.

Finally in a position to be able to plan/afford something. This year or next

I’ve though of Missouri and Kansas. But CWD is a factor now

Oklahoma. They have some monsters out there and there are way less people and much cheaper licenses

Kansas. Our last trip, we went a couple of days early and did Sandhills. The limit at that time was three. We went with an outfitter below Wichita that put the four of us with another group of six. We had 30 on the ground in a little over an hour. A few days later, the three of us that were deer hunting all had 150"+ deer on the ground.

Shawnee seems to have been hit pretty bad with EHD. Just not seeing many deer in that part of the state anymore. Not saying you cant get one but I bet numbers are 25% of what they were a decade ago. I used to just ride around and count the bucks. Now I barely see any deer. Sure you'll see some bucks during rut, but it is way off from what it used to be.

Although I could say the same for the west side of the river too.

South Dakota, big deer, pheasants, and ducks.
Kansas for sure. Can hunt all the above
I’ve seen big public land bucks in Iowa. Duck hunting isn’t phenomenal.
