I got picked for Cedar Creek SOA Unit 3 and 4 for Feb 2-5. Any of Ya ever hunted these 2 units? What should I expect for those areas and for that time of hunting season there? It looks like it should be a good area just looking at map with Cedar Creek being the North border of the units but I really have no idea about the land yet. I am going on the scouting days to try and get a small feel for the lay of the land there.

I am excited about having the opportunity to hunt in a great area for deer hunting.

Should be a fun weekend. Hoping for a nice buck and a pig or few.

Used to hunt it many years ago before it was a soa. Units 1,2,3,4 were my favorite areas. 4 used to be a huge flat cutover with real good hunting especially around the creek. 3 is hillier and had a lot of thick cedars. I saw a big 10 pt in 3 but didn't get him. I'm jealous. How about units 14 & 15? Any particular places to key in those units?

Never hunted those areas but as I recall it was a lot of pine plantation in those areas. A friend would bowhunt isolated oaks dropping acorns in that area.

The cedars provide a big wind break and if the suns out it it will have deer through it.
