My Mexican helper is quitting me. Hes gona stick around long enough for me to find some more help. The job is pretty physically demanding at times. 4-5 days a week. Leave my house at 7:00am. Usually back by 12:00. Sometimes a little later if were working 40mi away but around lunch is always the goal. Will be helping me cut trees and haul them. Really a little experience running a chainsaw is all thats needed, i can teach the rest. I will pay $150/day unless we get well past lunch, then ill pay more accordingly. Adrian has been making $800-$900/week pretty regularly. This is essentially apart time job with no benefits but pretty good pay. If yall know anyone around blount county who would like a job like this, please contact me.

Hope you find some one. You’ve got one heck of a trade. Someone always needs trees cut. Who ever you hire will learn some valuable life lessons. Hard work goes a long way.

If I knew someone I'd dang sure send them your way. I do know a couple of guys that were great climbers 20 years ago but one is dead now and the other has a cushy job and is too old to do it.

Yep I'll ask around for good young guy...if I wasn't so busy I'd help for that, least till hunting season 😀

Most folks who want to work have a job these days. A good job with a future and benefits. The problem with this job as far as a productive young man is concerned is that theres no future in it, no moving up, no room to grow. It is what it is. Most young folks with a real mind to work are looking for a real job with opportunities to move up the ladder. Theres no ladder here. Its a great opportunity for the right person but not for everyone. I understand that. Thats why i try to make it as appealing as possible. Ill find someone. Ive never done without yet. If my son were three years older, it would be him if he wanted it. And im sure he would. Maybe in a few years he could have it to make his living and keep me around so i could make enough to get by on. I reckon thats the American dream. I just gotta keep some help for about three more years.

You're wrong about there being no future in it. If a young man doesn't mind hard work and is also willing to learn he can run his own tree service in the future. A man that can ride the bucket isn't that hard to find, but good climbers are rare now. Those guys that learn to climb will be able to make a good living, especially if it's his name on the truck.

I hope my son sees it that way. He has expressed interest in "doing what i do". Hes pretty good help on a tree job too. Hes fixin to start climbing a tre now and then. Its time.

Looks like there's good money to be made, if one has the equipment and the willingness to learn. Tim from Cottontop3 on youtube has come a long way.
