Go to a doc in the box and get a cortisone shot.

You know what helps? Clear fingernail polish and also iodine. I put iodine on mine when I get them now. You do know that the chigger isn’t inside the bite, right? They don’t burrow inside your skin, It’s a bite, like a mosquito.

Remember, there is no "chigger" or "egg" or anything under-in your skin. The chigger bites to suck your blood and emits an enzyme that we have a reaction to, which causes the welt and itch. The actual chigger may stay attached from 1-3 days but doesn't plant any egg or burrow under your skin. https://agrilifeextension.tamu.edu/library/landscaping/chiggers/Benadryl may help. ChigX is good and has 10 percent benzocaine along with aloe vera and chamomille. If you can find something with that much benzo and get a bottle of aloe, it might help. I use Ivarest for bug bites and poison ivy/oak. It helps a lot and has worked for chiggers.

I’ve got them worse than I’ve ever had them. I’m TDY in Savannah and can’t find chiggerX anywhere. Freaking miserable Savanah / Fort Stewart has some world class chiggers.

PVC pipe glue is great for killing them. How do you use it? Spray it on them on the fields/grass? You have to be infected first. Smear it n the infested area and they will suffocate. Sure it’ll burn but it works.

Sure it’ll burn but it works. Contrary to common belief, chiggers do not burrow into a host’s skin or suck blood. They pierce the skin with their sharp mouthparts and inject a digestive enzyme, disintegrating skin cells for food. Itching usually begins within 3 to 6 hours after an initial bite, followed by development of reddish areas and sometimes clear pustules or bumps. There is nothing to suffocate.

Chiggers are bad, but itch mites are worse. Also known as oak mites. Most people don't know the difference. The only thing that works for me is, hot water. Sprayer head is preferable. Turn it on jet and spray them. When I get out, I'll usually rub hydrocortisone cream or whatever anti-itch stuff I can find. During the day, I carry rubbing alcohol and then cream. That'll get me through the day. But that hot spayed water is the only real fix, and it's temporary. I've got my feet eaten up by itch mites and will get up in the middle of the night and have to spray them off again. Spay and cream right before bed with a couple of benadryls.
Pro tip, I carry a can of deets spray, it helps.
