Rough on the hips and joints when one's on rough ground as well.
Plus the twisting and turning to look over the shoulders to check on the bush hog, tractor and progress.

Sure does look good when it's finished though!!

Tried to get a little bit done today and almost hit a fawn on my 3rd pass. Called it a day, figured it can wait a few weeks till they’re a little more agile.

The wife wonders why I'm not fond of mowing our yard at 2pm in June/July/August. I mean all I'm doing is sitting on a mower, right? It's only 4 acres, so it won't take long, right? It just rained an hour ago so it should feel cool, right?

I wonder if they make a cab mower.

Why, yes they do in fact.

Just get this one, it shouldn't take long.

https://www.exmark.com/products/mowers/zero-turn/lazer-z/lazer-z-diesel

144 inches of cutting width. Diesel and a zero turn.

Cabbed tractor with AC is one of the best additions a man can have! Let the AC go out and you will be blowing a phone up trying to get it going again. We replaced the clutch last year on a 5420 and when it was broke apart the Freon came out. We didnt know this at the time of repair! FIL called an AC man and he came and recharged the unit and it was good to go this year. The PTO clutch was another issue, but we have it going now.

A cab with a broke ac is the worst...I've spent several hours disking in August with one while waiting on parts...

I bushhog three peach orchards every couple weeks. My food plot has been let go this year but most of it is in clover. Itsgrowing as good as can be expected as dry as its been. I left the elbon rye i had growing in it standing. Im hoping when i bushhog it in a couple months that there will be enough seeds left to have some volunteer elbon rye. Other than that, im gona topsow some more clover where it didnt come up good last year and im gona plant about a acre of kale/rape/daikon radishes which i will break the ground to prepare. Thats about as little effort as i can put into having a place to hunt.

Absolutely 💯 correct! Add to the AC the lack of dust you inhale and a more comfortable seat and bushhogging becomes fun.

I guess technically I didn’t have to, but my deer will appreciate the gesture

Yellow jackets love to attack when hush hogging.

I was just fixing to say this. They got me before. I had an old '52 Ford 8N and when I was bush hogin my pastures, I learned after they got me good. I learned to watch the last strip I had cut, very carefully. They would be swarming the ground and I'd cut another area until dark. I have bailed ship and go back an hour later and those demons would still be stinging on the tractor. Gas in the hole after dark did it every time. Let me tell you an old Ford will not outrun hornets...lol ouch! Got a nicer Kubota now and it will go a lot faster...lol

I’d like to cut with that big boy! You’d be spoiled for life.

I wouldn’t even do Tractor work anymore after having a cabbed tractor with radio and AC. I turn the tunes on High, the AC on blast and let the world pass me me by. I need to do about 2 days worth of bushhoggin at the farm, but at this point I’m just letting it go until plot planting rolls around.
