Gator numbers have skyrocketed and they are all over the state now. It made sense a few decades ago, but the gator tag lottery is just an SSS generator these days.

How do you know if you are drawn?
I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

Remember when you felt safe swimming in the Alabama River? Seriously I've heard of gators in north Alabama this year..I'm not sure if it's released pet's or what...

How many points did y’all have James? I'll have to check Joe. I had maxed out points two seasons before finally be selected (selected for two zones) then i didn't put in for two seasons (that was 4 years ago i believe)

Remember when you felt safe swimming in the Alabama River? Seriously I've heard of gators in north Alabama this year..I'm not sure if it's released pet's or what... The swamps along the Tennessee are infested with gators. The story I heard is they released some on Redstone Arsenal in the 70's to control the beaver population. They thought they would die off in winter, but their population has been growing ever since. I think they are in every river in the state now. If not, they will be soon. Chuckie needs to get his head out of his arse and stop protecting an invasive species.

Annual rejection notice received
Not sure how many points I’ve accumulated, but I’ve got to be getting close
Which reminds me, I should be receiving my annual Masters ticket rejection any day now too

Chuckie needs to get his head out of his arse and stop protecting an invasive species. Which swamps along the Tennessee are infested with them? Infested is a big word. That means a lot, as in you can't get around or go through there without seeing a lot of them. Which swamps and creeks are like that? You're correct about the 1970s release. Former Wheeler NWR manager Tom Atkeson wanted to introduce some to see if they could survive the winters on the northern edge of their range. He and then US Rep. Ronnie Flippo cooked up the "control the beavers" narrative so Flippo could help it slide through easier. And they've been here since. We have a woman here in Hsv who was recently quoted as saying the gators have been here for 100+ years. She's an idiot. As for the gator hunt draw, I quit applying years ago. I don't trust the draw system and don't get my kicks out of paying for 2-3-4+ years and getting "points" for anything, especially a species like gators that need more culling.

I don't trust the draw system and don't get my kicks out of paying for 2-3-4+ years and getting "points" for anything, especially a species like gators that need more culling. Redstone Arsenal is the worst. I used to see them quite often behind the building I used to work in. I see them on Wheeler occasionally, but see the slides everywhere. I would see them way more often if I wasn't intentionally making noise to scare them off, don't want them eating my dog. Just a theory, but I wouldn't be surprised if the snowy egret population on Wheeler starts to decline over the next few years. I've seen plenty of gator sign along the Flint River and at Swan Creek, but infestation may be an overstatement in those places, for now. My mom sees them constantly in her subdivision's pond located in South Huntsville. I'm guessing the subdivisions along Zierdt Rd have them too. Edit: Don't normally share GPS coordinates on the forum, but here's a place where you will see a bunch: 34.61694, -86.87020
