Our club is in Coosa County and we feed only high protein feed during the summer.
There are a lot of brands out there I know. We have used 20% Protein Rack Rack Deer feed for several year along with 18% Protein Feed in a bag from Academy Sports.

All of this is very high in cost this year. I went to a feed mill south of Montgomery and bought a 20% protein feed that has all the minerals and other ingredients of the high cost products that they mix there and the deer seem to lover it. It comes in 50 lb bags like Record Rack and some of our 23 feeders were empty after only two weeks with this item. Other mills make have a like product. The important thing in the summer if you are going to fill up feeders is do it with good protein feed. Corn is much cheaper but is nothing compared to a good protein feed. We have several green fields planted in the summer also, with high protein seed like LabLab.

Thanks, Stoney. Do you mind sharing the feed mill you bought from? Where about in Coosa County do you hunt? I'm in the northern part of the county, south of Sylacauga. You can PM if you prefer.

Stoney PM me the feed mill info and feed you are using if you don't mind.

I got my 20% protein feed from Casey Feed in Hope Hull Ala. which is about 15 minutes south of Montgomery. They mix it there and it comes in 50 lb bags for $11.99 a bag. The deer really went for it. It has minerals and a lot of the same stuff Record Rack has and Record Rack is about $19.00 a bag

You won't hardly find a better price than Casey Feed products bought straight from them.

Dang! That's almost worth me driving from Cullman to pick up a bunch.

I wish we had a deal like that in North Alabama

Stoney, You putting it in troughs or gravity feeders? Would it work in spin feeders?
