I would look for a used one. I did a quick check on FB marketplace and there were several that I thought were a deal.

These have been stated: Capacity, check and recheck with your guns, a lot of times twice as much is not enough; fire rating is often bogus, they are just using sheeting you can buy at Home Depot; dehumidifier, yes and still put in damp rid; they are heavy and may need t fit your doorways; mounting to concrete, difficult but not impossible.
My suggestion: build your own gun room. Use concrete sheeting and a lot of it, have your door and extra lock with reinforced areas around the door, you can put a full size dehumidifier in it plus use your home’s AC to help, build your own wall and/or shelves to hold your guns and accessories.

I have 2 Liberty safes and have found that if the safe capacity says it will hold X amount of guns, it will really hold about 50% of said capacity. I have been wanting a Knox safe and plan on getting one in the future.

Any safe that says will hold X amount of long guns doesn’t include with scopes...buy BIGGER than you need. But how much bigger? I want them easy to grab too. Not banging into each other. Is it 3:1 or something similar? Also would appreciate advice on those things for inside the door that hold rifles or pistols for quick access. You aren't going to find one that doesn't involve moving guns to get guns, unless you have 10 guns and get a 60 gun safe.

You are buying an oven. Dont think for one second your guns will survive a house fire. Get the biggest heaviest safe you can afford. Make the crook really work hard to steal your guns. I've got 2 pounds of black powder sitting in the floor of my safe. One on the hinge side, one on the latch side. I printed a sign and taped it to the door, stating that the safe has blackpowder inside, and if someone tries to cut it open, the last thing that will go through their mind is the safe door.

Yes a thief can get into almost any safe. Still the thickest steel safe is going to take longer to gain access. Bolting it down is a must. A good monitored security system covering the safe will ensure the theif doesnt spend a lot of time trying to gain access. This brings us back to point one . The thicker the steel the better. Use a golden rod dehumidifier. Also place dessicant container inside as a backup. Check it periodically or put a humidity sensor inside with a remote display.

I went and looked at a few today. I wanted to get some visual in my mind of how much space is taken up by each size safe. They get big (amd expensive) fast. I am going to call Southland in Haleyville this week and see what he can educate me on.

If I ever build a house again, I'm building a room size safe in the middle with reinforced concrete walls, etc. then I'm gonna buy a safe door from a closed small town bank. I pass the Bank of Pine Hill and the Bank of Castleberry all the time in my travels. Probably plenty more. Probably be a hell of a job to move it though.

I’m going to build a party barn one day…this is gonna be right in the middle and you’ll never know it’s there.
