Ok I'm ready to buy one. How do I really decide on size? How heavy duty do I really need? (I know insurance kicks in before invincibility does). How to mount to floor? Dehumidifier? What brand and model? Accessories? Who to buy from? Who delivers to Jemison? No steps to go up. Mount to concrete floor. Anything else I need to consider?

Any safe that says will hold X amount of long guns doesn’t include with scopes...buy BIGGER than you need.

Capacity is in single shot break action shotguns, not long guns you would actually store in it.

Everyone talks about their door. Thickness of the body is at least as important. I personally think that Summit makes one of the better ones, with 10 gauge walls and back.

Buy the biggest one you can afford. Then buy two. None of those electronic locks either.

Buying a safe is like buying a tractor. No matter what you get you will want one bigger.

But how much bigger? I want them easy to grab too. Not banging into each other. Is it 3:1 or something similar?

Also would appreciate advice on those things for inside the door that hold rifles or pistols for quick access.

I need a new one. Following. Mine is too small it’s like a 35 gun that holds 10.

And definitely need advice on who to buy from that can deliver without charging more than the safe.

Go with manual dial locking door for sure. I went with Liberty. I caught a sale at Marks and bought the biggest one I could afford. I paid a pretty penny to have delivered and set up but it was worth it. Some things are just worth paying for.

With current steel prices, safes are astronomically high right now. I bought a safe just by pure luck in 2018. The same safe I bought in 2018 is right at 40% more expensive today. Steel is a commodity, so it can be expected this pricing will correct itself one day. Who knows when, and you may not can wait, but that's a consideration.

Besides that, x10 on the buy the biggest you can afford.

Don't worry about the most "secure" safe. They all have walls made of sheet metal. The door may be an impassible barrier, but a meth head with an angle grinder can cut a hole in the side.

I prefer not having a large safe. I have smaller safes in multiple locations instead. Not keeping all my eggs in one basket.

Price isn't really an issue. But I I'm not one to waste money so I want to be smart.

Buy as big as you can and get a digital lock. Tumblers suck.

Consider placing a cheap security camera on top of the safe.
Obviously that wouldn’t deter a determined and equipped thief but you may get facial footage.
