Don't go knocking those heated seats, especially when you get past 50 and your back starts talking to you. Those heated seats come in real handy at times for mine.

On the contrary. The used stuff i buy is extremely nice. I could put you in my 2011 4RUNNER with 225k miles or my 2015 lexus with 70k miles , blindfolded , and there is no way you would know they weren't new based on the ride and condition of the interior. I drove the 4RUNNER to Maryland and back when it turned 200k and just drove the lexus to Dallas from Nashville. I don't fault anyone for buying whatever they want but I bet I've probably spent less than anyone on this site on repairs in the last 25 years. 1 wheel bearing and a set of front rotors and we think that was caused by the aftermarket rims. That's it in 25 years.
Sounds like you got a couple real nice vehicles and I would be thrilled with that kind of repair bill over 25yrs! My post wasn’t a mean spirited jab at anybody in particular just having fun with some of the posts that have been made. These threads always get a good chuckle. I know you weren't. I know a lot of guys who think it if it has over 100k miles it's at end of life. For every GM and Ford product I've had that hasn't been far from wrong. Granted, I've never really needed a work truck since my only use for one is hunting. If I were towing or using it for heavy work I'd have to look at something other than Toyota. I don't blame the guys who buy new or buy the 3/4 and 1 ton domestics for work but it seems every week there is another thread about a low mileage GM truck with serious issues. I can't imagine that GM couldn't build a reliable truck but it almost appears they don't want to.

I’m in the camp of saying I’d never buy new but I’ve done it 2x. ‘01 Tahoe after 1st wife was t-boned and totaled our Explorer. That vehicle got close to 200k miles before she traded it.
‘22 Kia Telluride for my wife. She’d been in an 03 Lexus LS430 with 250k+ miles on it. Gave that to my son at State when his ‘05 Trailblazer got totaled in a fender bender.

Welcome to ALDeer where real men drive clapped out trucks with 300k miles and only an IDOT would pay for a new truck Picture me rollin’ 😈 On the contrary. The used stuff i buy is extremely nice. That's it in 25 years. Hella impressive. You do realize you are the needle in the haystack on that repair stat, right?! 👍😁. As we speak I’m about to drop $400 on a radiator reservoir fan assembly repair on the 03 Lexus.

I buy the wife a new one every 5-6 years, her and my kids are on the road a lot so I try to keep them in something reliable,I’m about to turn 43 and I’m only on my 4th vehicle ever,my grand total spent on my trucks is less than $70k,I’ve tried to talk my wife into buying 4wd SUVS for almost 20 years so I can drive them when they are paid off and try to keep one car payment instead of 2,finally got her to get on board with that

I’m just saying, air conditioned seats are the technological breakthrough I’ve been waiting to buy a new truck for.
It ain’t fun sitting down on leather and getting up with the legend of wooly swamp running down your back. My 2011 RAM has heated/cooled seats.

Am I the only one on here that no longer buys new vehicles? I can’t make myself buy a new vehicle that is the price of a house!
The last new vehicle that I purchased was in 2011, a RAM 2500 with a Cummins Diesel engine. It’s a crew cab 4x4 and I’ve got 220k on it now and it should be good for another 220k before anything is touched on it. Girlfriend drives this one, she’s 5’3” and feels like she’s 10’ tall driving the truck.
I have a 100 series Lexus LX470 (Land Cruiser) it’s a 1999 model with 170k on the clock. Should be good for another 800k miles. It’s an old classic that’s built like a tank and rides like a Cadillac.
The ONLY car that I’ve ever owned in my 53 years, 2011 Roush Stage 2 Ford Mustang GT, 5.0 with 6 speed transmission and 47k on the odometer and 160 on speedo supposed to go faster than 160 but I haven’t tried it yet. Glad that I didn’t get this one until later in life, I’d be working 2-3 jobs to pay child support!
I have purchased two new vehicles in my life. I will never do again. The last three cars I have bought have been Toyota/Acura over 100k in miles, single owner, no accidents. New cars are just pissing lots of money away.
