Been trying to burn this tract for 2 months, but it's been too wet. Had a small window this week and was able to burn before the rain hits again the next 3 days. Yes, I would've preferred to burn earlier, but can't control Mother Nature. Also, I spend a lot of time trapping and feel the benefits of trapping offset any losses due to late season burn on smaller tracts.

I'm about to do a late season burn, too, if the weather cooperates next week. Many thanks to MBrock for making this happen

What’s wrong with late season burning?

It would depend on a few different variables.......This first one would be...."What percentage of hens successfully nested the first go round??",,,,The higher that number the less the impact of burning right now

June 27-30 I believe. It's at Graham Creek Preserve near Foley.
