I certainly am. Poking along on the interstate. I remember when going back to 70 mph, that a top state trooper said it would actually free up traffic. People would get where they are going, faster and off the road. Made sense at the time.

If you wanna do 55, better stay in that right lane. . . 😃

Heck how long has it been 65? When I say 10 years ago that could mean 5 years and it could mean 25 years but I can't believe it's been 30 plus years since it was increased to 65. I remember 55 well.

I remember when it was 55 and it was unbelievably slow.

I travel a lot for work. This year I just got tired of fighting it out for supremacy in the left lane and decided to simply start setting my cruise control on 70 and be done with it. Now I do that, relax and let the maddening rush of people just pass me right on by jockeying for position in the pack while I'm chillin' in the right lane. Every now and then I press on the gas to get around a slow truck, and then go right back to 70.

It's done two things:

1. It's more relaxing.
2. My full sized Ram 1500 is getting a legit 22mpg on trips.

I will say that when you first start doing it, 70mph seems really slow.

I've spent my whole life going fast, but now that I'm on the north side of 60, I want everything to slow down. I get the feeling that I don't have all the time in the world anymore.

I thought about spoofing this about a week ago. Decided it was just too cruel.

It seemed to take forever to get anywhere. I remember how much less traffic was around back then in my part of the country. Heck, even when I was 16 there wasnt much. I can remember driving up to hunt at my grandmothers with buddies and we would see less than 5 cars sometimes on the interstate for the 60 mile trip. One trip we saw 1 other car.

Lots of truck traffic now.
