The Governor of the Bank of England warned:

"Russia’s war on Ukraine is leading to an “apocalyptic” food shortage, Governor of the Bank of England Andrew Bailey told a committee of Parliament on Monday. Bailey said the main issue is that major global grain supplier Ukraine’s crops cannot be exported due to the war. The head of the United Nations World Food Program warned “millions of people around the world will die” if Ukraine’s Black Sea ports continue to be blockaded by Russia. Last week, Italian League party leader Matteo Salvini warned the looming food shortages due to the war could cause as many as 20 million people from Africa to migrate to Europe.

Anyone else feel like we are headed to a one world goveernment sooner rather than later? Mass immigration world wide?

I think the idea Ukraine can't export is going to be the reason other countries will have to intervene in the war.

Personally I don't get it. We have the capacity to grow plenty of food here, plus use all our own energy. Why don't we get there and then help out of our abundance?

India has banned all wheat exports. They are holding it for their own use. Africa and parts of the Middle East are going to be in a lot of hurt as they import the majority of wheat to feed themselves.

For some reason it's always been on my mind to store some wheat so I've got a few buckets set aside if I need it one day

Don’t we have 100’s of thousands of acres of CRP land. We have more than enough land and resources to sustain our country for A LONG TIME. Why aren’t we using them? Is it coincidental that billionaires are buying large tracts of farmland?

Not enough farmers to farm all that ground. Plus the cost to get that ground back in production with the high cost of everything now is not feasible. I’m very afraid we are gonna be less more farmers in the next few years if things don’t turn around. Times are fixing to get real bad. People better start growing their own food and learn how store it long term.

Even if we did grow more, our government would give it away to some other Shitt hole country.

Yep or pay the farmers to till their crop under like they have been doing.

Just turned the water off to my garden. Russia has also stolen stored grain and has loaded it on ships. Some have been turned away from countries knowing its stolen.

For the love of god, show me where that has happened! Ive worked for the usda for 36 years for an agency that handles all row crop subsidies. We have NEVER paid a farmer to till a crop under. Never.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

China owns a lot of our farmland too. We will be exporting to them no matter how bad things get.

It’s gonna be bad just trying o figure out how bad and how long.

Where is 257 when y’all need him? I’ve been around farming all my life and never heard of anyone anywhere plowing under a crop for a subsidy. Never. Yes prices for crops are high right now but the inputs are also crazy high not to even bring fuel into the equation.

We have definitely paid farmers and land owners to plant worthless pine trees in otherwise productive tillable acres. Never made sense to me. But here we are.
