I've heard of people setting up a full spread of crow decoys, like goose hunting, but never seen it in person. The ones telling it were "eat up" with it, though, so there could've been a bit of embellishment on the grandeur of the set-up! Never heard anybody say it wasn't a lot of fun, regardless.
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

I wish I could find the call sounds elkhunter used. If anyone comes across the feeding crow sounds, please let me know. At times I have 100s around.

Y’all eat them? I heard it’s very similar to dove. Knight and Hale did a show on crow hunting many years ago. The guys shot crow in a pecan grove in GA and breasted them and grilled them like dove breasts. Said they were good.

Crows eat maggots out of road kill. I just can’t see eating them. However, I love hunting them. Did a lot of that in high school. Lots of fun. They are smart!!!

I think I've told this story on here before, but when we were kids we had this pecan tree near the road. Nuts would sometimes fall on the road and cars would run over them and crush them. Crows would eat the meat. Soon they figured out that if they took the nuts, dropped them on the road and waited, pretty soon a car would come along and run it over and they could eat. That's amazing. Always knew they were smart but damn. Maybe we can replace Brandon with a crow.

I have an osprey nest next to the store and the crows will harass the birds trying to force them off of nest so one can kill the chick’s. Maybe they will succeed. Ospreys are all over. The state DCNR puts up nest boxes for em and I feel like its a waste of our money yet again.

You’ll rarely see a crow get hit by a vehicle They always have a buddy in a tree that starts screaming CAR !!! CAR !!!
