What is the best way to get tests on a couple of our plots? Does the extension service still do it? After 40 years we figure it might be time to get a couple of plots tested.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I used the county extension service. They provided the kit and mailed it. Cost $7 then.

You can download the form online and mail the soil in. That is what I'm going to do. Already have the form printed.

I remember a thread some time back that was about NOT using Auburn for some reason or other. IIRC even 257 said he didn't use AU which is the reason I remember something about it. Tried a search but search sucks now with the 1 year limit. Couldn't find it.

Use A&L or waters Ag lab if you want current up to date legit procedures and Recs. From this thread in the Quality Deer Management forum... Soil sample results? And FYI, you can change the search parameters to go back farther than a year...in the DATE RANGE section on the search page, delete the 1 and click the drop down arrow in the YEARS block. It will give you 5 options...a blank, then DAY(S), WEEK(S), MONTH(S), YEAR(S). Just click the blank area above DAY(S) and it will go back farther than a year.

I used Auburn and was very pleased. I sent mine in using ziploc bags that I labeled and paid $7.50 a sample. Got the test results emailed to in very quickly. Told them what I wanted to plant and got some specific guidance on those crops too. I would use them again.
The negative I have heard has been about using WTI for soil testing. What is the negative about using WTI? I've used them and everything was great. They use Waypoint Analytical in Memphis to do the testing, which from what I understand is one of the top soil testing labs out there that farmers use.

I saw some online reviews that were negative about them. Either they didn't get results, or they took a long time, or they couldn't get a response. I have personally never had an issue when buying from WTI, but I haven't ever done soil testing with them.
