I’ve killed WAY more mature bucks than gobblers over the years. Wow . I just started turkey huntin' serious about 8 years ago , I've averaged about 3 a season. I 've been deer hunting nearly 50 years and I've killed a bunch of full grown uns, but I ain't even close to averaging 3 mature studs a year.

I’ve killed WAY more mature bucks than gobblers over the years. Wow . I just started turkey huntin' serious about 8 years ago , I've averaged about 3 a season. I 've been deer hunting nearly 50 years and I've killed a bunch of full grown uns, but I ain't even close to averaging 3 mature studs a year. I just don’t have places that consistently hold turkeys. I’ve killed 5 in 2012 and 2018. Most years I kill 2-3. I’ve killed 3 bucks nearly every year or at least have the opportunity. I don’t always choose to pull the trigger. Killing mature bucks has never been a problem to me.

You can kill 3 gobblers in 1 shot pretty easy. Just having the opportunity is the hard part.

If a spike counts as a buck a jake counts as a gobbler. 3 gobblers no contest and it isn't close. If you had to only hunt deer with shotguns and bows then you could 10x the difficulty. The question was which is easier to kill

Bill, I could go for bow and shot gun only for deer . Me too but if you could use a rifle for turkeys ( an even playing field) which one is exponentially easier. I love turkey hunting but to even compare the difficulty of killing a mature buck against a mature gobbler is nuts. Not even remotely the same level of difficulty.
