Had a 1lb bag of jerky I had opened a couple of weeks ago. Sealed the bag back up. Handed it to my 7 yo grandson tonight and he was tearing it up, until he pulled one out and said it looked funny. I looked and that was some nasty mess in that bag. Hope he don't get sick.

Wipe it off with vinegar

We keep Bridgeford jerky on the boat all the time during the summer. We have had this happen several times and just thought it was from not sealing the bag back up good.

That's probably it, just didn't seal like I thought it did.

Got moisture in it some how, possibly from heating up and cooling off. Had it happen to a batch of deer jerky once.

If you bought it from Camofire it will ruin without being open. Bought a bunch during December to carry over from deer season to turkey season to snack on. Ended up throwing away 9lbs of jerky

I vacuum seal mine when not eating it. Maybe desiccant packages?

I’ve had vacuum sealer bags get poked by the jerky before when they were getting vac’d and sealed.

This jerky wouldn't have poked a hole in the bag. More like a soft candy. Jerky used to be hard, hard to tear/gnaw a piece off. Then a good workout trying to chew it, this stuff nowadays ain't nowhere near what it once was.
