So I set a few coyote traps about 7 days ago. These are my first sets I have ever done with spring traps. I made a dirt hole set about 20 yards from our gut pile hole. The hole has some pig and Coon carcasses in it. I put a camera on this set. I had one coyote come up behind the set and check it out. But about 5-6 others have walked 10’ from it and never paid it any attention. Any tips or suggestions?

There is a bush and a little hill of pushed up dirt that I used as the backing for the set.

I think a lot of it has to do with how hungry the yotes may be that you're trying to trap.....I've been playing a chess game with some here behind my house and it's becoming more and more interesting........

Haiwatha Valley maybe???.....looks like mushed up liver or something........That seems to be one of the more popular go to baits.

One of them was black. I had 2 black ones in camera at different locations so I guess we only have 1 now.

I have never trapped coyotes but have a need to. Could someone post a picture of the trap they are using and maybe tell me where they bought it?

on something like a gut pile I just put in flat sets no dirt holes. Really great for snares. That' would be my #1 but you can't do that around here which is totally stupid.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Just Google MB 550 and it will come up. You will need a lot more than just a trap though. Do a search on YouTube for “management advantage”. They have a few good videos explaining how to set and what you need.
