I'm waiting for someone to call us liars. Telling us there's no way business could be good in these economic times.

One reason our business is booming is because most companies aren’t buying new equipment and they’re having to get us to repair the old stuff

Business is good for most, HOWEVER the amount of Arshole customers has unfortunately increased 😏

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

In Commercial Roofing materials distribution world we are working with material allocation and 12 month lead times from manufactures. Quoting jobs at record pace, not sure when its all going to burst but it can't keep going the way it is.

I'm a single employee professional services IT company. For me, the first of the year is always the best time - people have a new budget, just coming off the holidays, project timeline start dates, etc. Sometimes the end of the year can be good, but most of the projects run a year or less, so most are already wrapped up. This past end of year was pretty slow. I normally don't mind, I just hunt more. But it really picked up way more than I expected it to the first of the year. I've been busy as I want to be. I've got to strike while the iron is hot to make up for the slower months.

Overall, I'd say business is really good, but I haven't upped my rate...hard to pull that off in my line of work, they get used to a set hourly rate. So b/c of the increase in living expenses, it is definitely making me concerned about how far is the same money I was making at this time last year, going to help keep the bills paid in the slower months this year.

We’ve been going nuts for years. Every casting we make goes in a luxury or high-end item (boats, ATV’s, ZT mowers). We’ve wondered about the stimulus money, tax refunds and even wondered if part of it is because folks can’t buy new cars. 2022 is projected to be another record year. Russia is one of the main producers of the aluminum alloys we use, so it could get interesting. Since the invasion, our raw material and utility costs have shot up, but folks are still buying castings.

We are contracted to do more revenue in fiscal 2022, than we ever have. Labor to complete the work is my biggest stress nowadays.

I believe bad times are coming soon. Interest rates are going to rise quickly. We just had a publicly traded company request a price to cancel a job. The job is already underway. They will probably incur 30-40% cost to button it up at this point. Sounds like they don’t like what they see coming. .

Well that would scare me if I was in your shoes but publicly traded companies get to big sometimes and can't manage anything...hopefully this is the case but it may not be...

We’re still so far behind at the shop it’s ridiculous and have had substantial increases in service calls and towing.
The trucking has been a yo-yo ride as I’ve posted before. One day customers want it hauled for free, next day they want you to pay them to haul it.

I’ve cut that side of the business by 50% and I’ll cut the other 50 before I go backwards. I’m lucky enough that I’m in a position that I could have an auction and walk away smiling, don’t want to yet but I could. I think it’ll settle in somewhere eventually with the consumer feeling the squeeze way beyond what they are now. Then all the credit cards max out, then what!

I mean, you can't keep up with the increases and not pass it along to the customer, that's the way it works. Joe and his merry gang of idiots are so stupid they believe the businesses will just eat it. They've never done transactions in the real world and have no understanding of the difference between $3 per lb ground beef and $7 per lb, $2 milk vs. $5 milk, $3 gas vs $5 gas, $10 per hour vs $19 per hour labor(that is actually willing to show up to work). Hell, I'm just ready to see it all hit the fan at this point.

My father runs a gas station in Honeycomb and he's seen a huge drop since the child tax credit stopped. As per drinks, he was selling two cases of MT. Dew a day and is lucky to get a case out the door. I think with that and gas up, people sitting on the money.

So, having read FurFlyin's post and yours and then seeing your screen name, I have to ask - are you a veterinarian or a gynecologist? I have some questions either way.

I have 2 small businesses. 1 service related, one in the restaurant industry. Both are booming. No slow down in sight. We are in the process of adding a food truck also.

Business is great in most sectors right now. But once one of the bellwether industries like construction starts to fall it's going to be a huge snowball rolling downhill that's going to hit HARD.
