Killed 25 yesterday. Didn't have any .22 Ratshot. Used th' 20 gauge with a 7/8 ounce load of 9's. Retriever is soft-mouthed so he did well in his retrieves. Had a dozen Scrambled in with my Cheese Eggs for B'fast.....adds sort of a sweet taste!! We'll be hittin' the Hummingbirds soon once the migration gets in full swing!!

I'd think you were just kidding if not for your location.

Badminton racquet and a case of beer is a good time too. Any exposed light fixtures are in danger though.

I smacked a few with the wife's tennis racquet this past weekend. They're wearing out my BGE table

When i worked deep water on boats I brought a slingshot and a large carton of BBs one long trip. I would put about 25-30 BBs in the pouch per shot. Must have shot at a thousand flying fish before I finally hit one lol.

I hate them but they are primarily pollinators of our blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and mulberries so keep them around for the most part... tennis racquet works great once it gets late summer and their job is done

Used a 20 ga?? You're the kind of person who'd carry a 12 ga to a quail preserve.
Back up to a .410, at least.
Brother I wouldn't of told that.

I put out several traps 3 yrs ago. Some caught a few. Some caught none.
Very few since then. And they do help pollinate my Orange trees in the spring.
I have a spot where, what I believe are Males, congregate and hover in formation
They push each other around change positions. They will buzz ya if you walk by.
I don't try to kill them. Just keep an eye on my wood.

20 Ga. is for rookies.
I shoot em with my 7mm Weatherby Mag.
I don't like tracking something after I shoot it.

I prefer 22lr to save on ammo costs. I have a dog to track the blood trails.

Caution. If using the raquet for killing keep an ice pack in the freezer for the worn out shoulder. I got 68 one day at the house and my arm felt like it was about to fall off.

I used a can of brake cleaner and a blow torch. I will say this, those cheap "Come and take it" 3x5 flags from Amazon go up in flames real quick.

If you find one in a hole, shoot the brake cleaner in the hole. Kills them in just a second or two. They will buzz like a run away engine then silence. rofl

I used some compressed air to get one the other day. It froze the bug into a black Popsicle.

If I find one inside a board, I use a 13 inch or so piece of string trimmer string. Bend one end to about a 45*angle with some pliers. Put the other end in a cordless drill and tighten it up. Insert bent end of string in hole and pull the trigger. You’ll hear it when the string makes contact.

Yes they work. Knock a couple down and put em in the trap, their buddies will follow.

There is a $5 per it for wood. Considered baiting here in Alabama

Drill a 1/2 in hole seems to work best.
