Heres a question for everyone. I run cameras all over my property. Most fields or feeders I can tell you exactly what deer are there all the time especially does. So I’ve got some does that are just now getting chased or bred. Being they are coming in this late and last year they did the same thing to, do you shoot the ones that you know that come into estrus this late or let it keep on keepin on

Are they actually conceiving in years past or are they remaining fawnless?

Nope. Probably didn't get bred on an earlier cycle. Bucks can only do so much

Depends on your sex ratio. I can’t see them coming into first estrous cycle right now. Gotta be their second. That would place their first around January 31-Feb 1 which is in line with most of Choctaw county.

It’s not 1:1 but it’s not far off. I’ve had bucks running does since the second week of January. It’s very strange to me how some does are coming in really early and some this late. Some of the does I’m speaking I have on camera everyday morning and afternoon. They have had bucks around them all year and never gotten chased or messed with until now.

May need some better bucks that can it done. Maybe brought in from another part of state. All that in-breeding has missed their gestation calendar up.

I'm in agreement with Matt. I've hunted Choctaw county a good bit over the years and I'd be very surprised if you had mature does that were just coming into their first cycle right now. Only logical answer to me is it might be that you had some early drops this year that are now 8-9 months old, or some really late dropped fawns from last year that are now just over a yr old and just becoming able to be bred. If they are grown/mature does, I'd bet money they just didnt get bred in the first go around and are on their second cycle.

Could you explain more about this, and how to transport better bucks that know the breeding cycles?

I am also interested. Please elaborate.

Actually I would file this in the "Extremely Interested" category.
