Anybody added one themselves? How aggrevating was it? Looking back would you have just hired it done? Cost?

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I have done a couple one for a buddy and one on mine can get a kit made for your tractor. Last one I bought was last year and was right at 900. Not bad at all to put on at least the ones I did.

What size tractor? I’m interested too. I can’t find one for mine.

The ones I did where 45 and a 65hp John Deere they will make a kit for your model and send you instructions to put it on. I use my grapple all the time also have a lane shark cutter for front to keep roads trimmed.

There’s a website called www.3rd function.com or something that sells kits w installation instructions for most smaller tractors. I bought a grapple from the attachment depot in Huntsville and installed my own kit in an hr on my mahindra 1533 I have $1,900 all in.

How do you like the lane shark? I’ve seen it advertised but don’t know anyone that owns one.

I like it it beats running a pole saw all day but it’s not a real fast process. Haven’t used it with my new tractor yet had a 45hp and it was on the edge of not having enough flow new one should be a little better. But unless you have a lot to do with one it’s a lot of money to just sit most of the time.

I added the WR Long 3rd function to my Mahindra and it was no problem. You can buy tractor specific kits that come with everything, including the hoses. Mine was $900. It’s usually between $1200-$1800 to have a dealer install it.

Where’d you get your kit?

I put one on a kubota 4701. I got it from Summit Hydraulics. Not happy with it. It worked for a couple of days then stopped. Took two days to get ahold of them. They did send me a new valve. Going to put it on tomorrow and see if I can get it going again. I would suggest WR Long.

I put one on my father in laws New Holland 60hp. We used the wr long kit and it was pretty straight forward. We were missing a part and their customer service was top notch.

Even the Kubota dealer said they put WR Long kits on instead of the ones offered by the factory.

I talked to a Massey dealer last week, who said the same thing.

Cheapest and easiest route is, use your rear remote if you got them. That’s how we run our grapple. Use it on multiple tractors

Now that you have the hydraulics, next thing you’ll be looking at is a FEL side cutter.
