I have a friend driving to Louisiana from south Florida, looking for a halfway stopover. Are the hotels around Tillman Corner off I-10 decent and safe enough for a white girl? That isn't a bad area, but it isn't the best either. I wouldn't want my daughter staying their by herself. Since it's along I10, I'd recommend driving another 30 minutes to Daphne or Spanish Fort. Just my $0.02.

I'd go with somewhere back in P'cola. But also, south FL to Mobile seems like way more than halfway to LA, but I guess it depends on where they are going in LA exactly. North Louisiana, between Alexandria and Shreveport

Is the Holiday Inn there decent? That's the brand she usually stays with.

Stop in Spanish Fort/Daphne or drive another hour and stay in Biloxi/Gulfport at one of the casinos
Traffic on I-10 through Mobile is going to be bad from 5:30 until close to 8 due to people heading downtown for the parades tonight and leaving after the parades. That's why I suggested stopping in SF/Daphne, depending on what time she'll be coming through.
Tillmans Corner isn't an awful area right by the interstate. Get too much farther into the area and you'll run into the meth heads

I go down there almost every week lately. Mrs. Irish and I like to stay and the Hilton Garden Inn right on Bienville Square. Great hotel bar, and it's within easy walking distance of all kinds of good food in the historic district. I've never felt unsafe there. Lots of nice places to eat within a block or two. Middle of Mardi Gras right now...doubt she'd be able to get a room there on such short notice. And, if she did, it's going to be higher than a giraffe's butt

This is just before the bridge going into Mobile and by the Bass Pro Shop. Courtyard Mobile Daphne/Eastern Shore. Safe and clean, If she is an early riser she should be able to get through the tunnel before rush hour. Otherwise, just go to Biloxi area for hotels beside I-10.

If she comes through anytime from 5 until 8 today, she's gonna be in rush hour traffic due because of Mardi Gras.

Is the Holiday Inn there decent? That's the brand she usually stays with. Sure...she can spend the night there and probably be fine; however, it isn't the best part of town. I've never stayed at that particular Holiday Inn but I'm sure that it's like all the others.

My office is in Tillman’s Corner and I don’t recommend the area to fellow coworkers or employees visiting. Just saying. Well hell I'll have to come visit you one day 😃

Working in Mobile and travel the bay way or causeway often in the morning time. This is the safest place within 45 min either direction.

I didn't realize they were staying this week. Im staying at the Hampton East Bay in Daphne for that very reason.
