Peeing from 25' in the air sounds just like a rodent/squirrel rustling around in the leaves if you do it right!!! Last year, I called in a big owl one evening doing this.

I had a great laugh watching that owl try to figure out where that squirrel was that was making that noise as I (b/c I didn't want to sound unnatural) did the pee and stop/pinch method.

laugh

I remember several years ago I was walking to a stand and had to take a leak. I unzipped and let it rip. During the middle of taking a leak I saw something move about 50 yards away. It was doe that was bedded down moving her ears, I guess to try and pinpoint the sound of my piss hitting the ground. She stood up facing away from me and sniffed the air. She turned and started walking right towards me. I dropped her before she saw me but I've always wandered if it was the smell, sound or purely coincidental that she was heading my way.

I don't ever carry a pee bottle anymore. The sound from it hitting the ground bothers me a whole lot more than the lingering scent. I just pee down a neighboring tree to the one I'm climbed up in to reduce the noise.

I've twice "called in" deer for shots that I saw bedded nearby, using used Mt Dew.

The first time I missed twice at 8 yards before it wandered around to eat the acorns on the other side of the tree (just about the time I remembered to pick a freakin' spot). And the other time I got to take the deer home with me.

When the leaves start rattling, their ears perk up and they stare at the splashing until it stops. Then they stand and start easing over to get downwind. I couldn't even risk moving enough, either time, to get it back inside before the shots. lol

If Topcat says it, you can take it to the bank. Anyone ever seen his trophy wall?
