This is the first deer that my wife has killed since our son,Tim, was murdered nearly 2 and a half years ago. The last time she killed a deer, her and Tim both killed bucks the same day. It's only the third time Ive been able to talk her into going hunting with me. She use to like to go with me but now not so much. I too, don't enjoy it like I use to. Those thugs took more than just our son, they took a part of us that can never be replaced.

These are her and Tim's bucks. He killed his that morning and she killed her's in the afternoon.

Slugging…. I feel your pain. It was everything I could muster to try and get the right frame of mind this season after losing my boy in June. But I promised my boy I would kill a biggun’ for him. I did manage to take one, not quite as big as I wanted. Losing a child is not fair to any parent no matter the reason. Congrats to your wife for doing it for Tim. He was watching her the whole time.

I know he’s smiling at her smile. Congrats and prayers.

I can't even imagine... but glad y'all had some time in the woods together, and she was able to get that buck. Woods time is therapeutic to me. Hopefully it is to y'all too.
