50 yard broadside shot. Impact was directly behind the shoulder (video proof). Shot with 120 grain SST. Deer did not fall but acted hit when running out. Little blood at impact site but very poor blood trail. Trailed 150-200 yards. Lost deer.

Who else is having problems with this caliber?

My guess is no exit hole = no/low blood trail & perhaps bullet failure on impact with bone.

Any chance we can see the video?

If you have video proof of impact behind the shoulder, then why the he acted hit lol?

my grandson has killed three deer with his Creedmore. One ran 50 yards and the other two DRT. I don't see a problem.

Only accurate rifles are interesting.

Wouldn't rule out projectile failure (not caliber failure) with the way they've been pumping out ammo. My buddy had a box and the damn polymer tips were just falling out

Yes. Dump the SST.

50 yards it probably exploded and never exited.

The only tipped bullet I would use is accubond.

SST was always a stone cold killer for me, my only reason for dumping, is when they went all superformance they wouldn't group out of my gun anymore.

There is nothing wrong with the creedmoor or the SST. Either you did not hit it where you thought or the angle is not what you thought. My guess is it was angled toward you and got maybe one lung and guts.

Who was the shooter? You? Because you said in a thread a few years ago that you had no problems knocking deer dead at four hundred yards or more. So it’s got to be an ammunition failure or a piss pour tracking job.

My buddy dropped a nice buck this year with his creedmor, I know it catches a lot of flack for being a fanboy round but after seeing what it did to the 2 bucks he shot it peaked my interest for sure. The one he killed this year was over 200lbs and it dropped in its tracks

Poor bullet choice the sst is not a good bullet.
Deer is probably hurt enough to die I'd be looking for it or on the phone looking for a dog

Guy's quit knocking the Creedmoor. I just trailed a deer last week for several hundred yards that was shot by a 270 WSM at 75 yds. The blood stopped after about 200 yards. The deer was killed yesterday about 2 miles away running a doe. Deer had a hole all the way through right behind the shoulder a little high. sometimes our perfect shoot could be a little off.

I've shot probably 50 deer with sst. Most died right there. Never lost one. Never had one run more than 100 yards. Nice large exit holes.

No disrespect to anyone or their personal choice of rifle cal. But Iread more bad than good on the creedmore from a terminal performance standpoint but I believe its bullet issues and lack of shooter knowledge (not in every case). You cant always believe what the box says or what some outdoor writer had printed in a magazine. Its big business selling bullets.

Personal hands on experience and evaluation is needed in my opinion. Some bullets marketed to shoot paper end up being fantastic hunting rounds and some bullets marketed as hunting rounds are dogs when it comes to killing quickly. All bullets are not equal. If you are shooting a bullet with a thin walled jacket then stop shooting the deer in the shoulder. Shoot lungs. If you are shooting a solid copper like a barns then stop shooting them in the lungs and shoot high shoulder.

You can kill them with a #2 pencil if you shove it in the right place.
