I just gotta ask - what is a catfish conference? What would people do at such an event? A boat show geared to catching big catfish?
Whatever it is, have fun! It's great to see people enjoying all the different kinds of fishing, and folks fishing just for the fun of it.

Sounds fun! One of my best memories I had as a kid was one of the last fishing trips with my grandfather fishing for big cats on the TN river. We stayed in a trailer at his buddy's fish camp. We didn't catch much but the anticipation as a 7 year old made an impression; that, and feeling like one of the guys getting to hang out with a bunch of guys born in the 1920s.
Anyways, I'd love to get on some big fish one of these days.
I can take you next summer and just about guarentee you catch more than one between 20-30lb. Could be several. Will catch fish every time your bait hits bottom, just about. Real fun fishing. Weve never broke 30lb though. Get close alot. Theres gotta be bigger fish in there. But we catch them over 20lb every trip. By the scales too. Some of the funnest fishing i do every year.

Seminars by various people who fish for trophy sized catfish. I'm hoping a Hummingbird rep is there to help me tune my Helix. Lot's of vendors where you can "try before you buy". I'm wanting some Mad Katz rods but I want to hold it and test it before I shell out $90. My boat partner is hoping to find left handed bait casting reels designed for catfishing. Yes, the boat sellers will be there as well.

The Catfish man himself will be there, Steve Douglas. I use the Monster Rod holders he makes, the Tangling with Catfish TWC rods, and usually fish his style of catfishing.
There's whole nother world out there besides bass and crappie. Catfishing has come a long way, with more boats and products geared toward the sport. Lots of YouTube out there as well.
I may go, idk yet, I'm off work and I've always wanted to check it out.

I watch this fella on YouTube to pick up some DIY hacks from time to time. I think he is a regular at those conferences. He has some very good ideas. https://youtu.be/giMKlMG8OxA[video:youtube] https://youtu.be/giMKlMG8OxA[/video]

Casino is about 30 min away. Already have reservations at Jack Binion's Steak House for Friday night. Hopefully I haven't lost my skills at throwing dice.
