I went fishing for a few day this past fall down at Claiborne lake and Millers Ferry. I met my friend at the boat ramp at Isaac Creek around noon. My wallet was on the dash of my truck and I slid it into the back left pocket on my shorts before I got out to unhook the strap from the front of the boat. We fished til dark, then headed to his camper. When I got to the camper and started unpacking my shorts my wallet wasn't in there. We tore my truck apart and dug through every compartment on the boat. He kept asking me where I put it and I told him I put it in my pocket and that was where it was supposed to be. We drove back to the boat landing and it was laying on the boat ramp right where my seat pushed it out of my pocket. It was soaked and looked to have been ran over 3-4 times. I know I ran over it 3 times. The gravel in the concrete on the boat ramp left indentions in the leather that are still there. I think it's an Orvis wallet. It's got the base of a 12 gauge shell sewed into one face of the wallet. I've had that thing for at least a decade. It's the best wallet I've ever owned.
The very next night I lost it again. It somehow wound up in a bag of garbage that I cleaned up out of the floorboard of my truck and was in the trash can outside his camper.
Prior to that I hadn't lost my wallet in my adult life, and I haven't lost it again. That was two rough days. LOL

The coach just sent me a message back saying he was not aware of one being turned in but he called the principal and assistant principal and let them know. They notified the cleaning staff who is going over there today to look for it. I gave them your phone number (got it from Morris) and asked them to call you should it turn up. Thanks

The school secretary called this morning saying my wallet had been turned in and I could come pick it up Cash was gone but everything else was there. I’m ok with that Glad to hear it was turned in. Cash was the only thing missing out of mine also when I got it back.
It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

Good deal. Maybe they didn’t write down your debit card numbers

Glad it was recovered. Gave up a wallet a few years ago and carry a small slide card carrier with a cash loop in my front pocket. Won't go back to a wallet.

I dropped mine 5 years ago and a guy found it. Called me and gave it back with everything in it. I gave him 100 bill. while pumping gas, like an idiot, i laid my wallet on the trunk of my car (10+ years ago) - a guy called & delivered it to my house, but took all the money out of it (i wasn't home, my ex was) said it was his "finder's fee" ...

In most cases I would be thankful that I got all of my other stuff back due to the hassle of replacing it but I'm that case I would obliged with my "reward" which would be one of the two of us toting a whooping. I wouldn't want them to lie but at least leave that info out for me to think it was gone when you found it.

How much cash was missing? I just texted their coach, thanking him for helping out, and they are disappointed that the cash was taken.

Glad you got it back, but I'd still report credit cards lost, assuming you had any in there. I only keep a few dollars in mine, major stash stays in my pocket
