I used onw last year and it was a pain in the butt to get started in most trees. Any one have a good name brand that they like?

Thats part of the reason I like my open faced summit cobra. There's just enough siderail to hang my bow on.

I use the three section by realtree. i can hang my bow in front of me. You fold it like a seven, strike the tree like a hammer and start to screw it in. Pretty simple.

I have never really liked them. I always preferred the ones that mount on the stand.
I always had mine mounted on the left side. All I have to do was stand up and the bow was right at my hand level with arrow ready.
Good luck finding one you like.

I had one I loved, but Mathews cam was too big. It was cut from plate steel, covered with blk rubber and screwed to the front of the climber it was perfect, till I bought a Mathews.

I have had several and they all have lasted years. I mounted it on the top part of my climber. You just slide the limb in it and push it forward and the weight holds itself in there. I dont remember they name on it. It was a cheaper one and I think I got it locally. Depending on the stand you may have to mount to the platform.

i've always been afraid of the ones that mount on my climber. i had a buddy who bumped his bow and it fell out of it and hit the ground. not sure which one he had. i have the realtree 3 section EZ hanger and thats what i prefer. it is great. i've tried the cheaper version of the EZ hanger but it's a pain to get started in the tree.

That's something to think about, but I used mine for about 10th years and never had a close call, but could see how it could happen.

I have the s shaped one you are talking about on my climber and never had any problems with it and can't imagine hunting with out it. I need one to hunt with while in my loc-on which is why I am thinking about the screw in tree kind.

I bought one of these years ago and love it. Never had a problem starting it even the hardest tree. I bought the regular version and ended up cutting it down to this size. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores...5003000_175-3-0

I trust the realtree ez hangers as well. The two and three section work great. Try screwing them into the tree about eye level when standing and you will find that the grip of your bow will be nearly perfectly positioned for sitting or standing. This will allow for as little movement as possible to grab the bow when game is nearby. I cannot bow hunt without them. Sometimes,in trees with tougher bark, I will make a small starter hole with my leatherman or something. This will make instalation a snap even in the toughest of trees. (Don't settle for the cheaper ones. I have tried serveral and the realtree ones are the best ones I've used.)
